Sul Sul, Gerbits! Today we’ll be making another pear recipe. This recipe is really simple and really easy. I like making a lot of things, but I have to say that pies, are very comforting for me to make.

This recipe will be down in the description below. Feel free to check it out yourselves.

The first thing you are going to do is make your pie crust. If you prefer frozen pie crusts than just skip these steps.

There are so many different types of pie crust recipes out there, but the only one that i was taught is Betty Crocker Pie crust recipe.

For this recipe you’re gonna need flour, salt, shortening, and ice-cold water.

In a medium sized bowl you are going to mix together the flour and salt.

Cut in the shortening using a pastry blender, until the mixture becomes coarse crumbs. The sized of small peas.

Sprinkle the water, 1 tablespoon at a time.

Chill the pastry until you are going to roll it out.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

For the pie filling you are going to need: pears, obviously. Sour cream, or plain yogurt works as a good substitute. Granulated sugar, an egg, flour, vanilla extract and salt.

In a medium sized bowl you are going to add your sour cream/yogurt, granulated sugar, beaten egg, all purpose flour, vanilla extract and salt. And mix them all together.

Roll out the pie crust, and make holes in the crust using a fork.

Add the sour cream/yogurt mixture to the crust.

Okay, guys. I have something to tell you! I hate when recipes say to peel fruits. I was taught to ignore this because according to my mom; most of the nutrients come from the skin.

And if the fruit’s skin is edible why throw it away. My parents also taught me not to throw food away. So, when a recipe says to peel a fruit, like pear or apple. I just ignore it. Because i don’t like wasting food. But that is just my belief. You do what you want in regards to peeling or not.

Back to the recipe. Once you core your pears, you are going to cut the ¼” thick slices. And place them over the sour cream/ yogurt filling.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.

In a small bowl you are going to make your crumb top. You will need all-purpose flour, sugar, butter and cinnamon. Mix them together until they are crumbly.

Remove the pear pie from the oven.

Sprinkle the crumble topping over the pie.

Bake for another 30-40 minutes or until the pie is golden brown and the filling has set.

You will want to let it cool completely at room temperature. Make sure to refrigerate before serving.

This recipe was so good. I was glad that I had yogurt in the fridge. Because I really wanted to make this recipe. It sounded really good and again making pies is one of my favorite things to do.

I hope that you all liked this recipe. Feel free to check it out in the description down below. Vadish, Dag Dag!
