Hello ever birdy. Today we are going to be making a recipe that I honestly never had until recently “salmon burgers.” using canned salmon. I also didn’t realize that canned salmon was a thing until I started volunteering at my local food bank.
Now before we get into the recipe we are going to talk about the character in question. Her name is Mualani (Moo-a-lawn-e) . She is a fun upbeat character from Natlan. She is one of the characters from Natlan that has two names. Meaning she is really powerful. I just love her energy. And she is on my wishlist of characters to get. Because I had this same feeling with Yoiyima way back before Sumeru came out. I was like “ I have no idea how she plays ( literally had to watch a few YouTube videos to figure that one out.) But I love her character. And for me that is a little bit more important.
Now onto the recipe. This is another one of those recipes that really doesn’t have much of a recipe. It is kinda a throw together recipe. And honestly those are the best.
For this recipe you are going to need:
- Canned salmon
- Egg
- Flour
- Baking powder
- Salt
- Pepper
- And your spice of choice. Obviously I am going with My fave spice Korean crushed red pepper flakes. Yes, America has crushed red pepper flakes, but there is just something so special about the Korean ones.
I used a griddle for this because it was the fastest way to make a bunch without having people be done when the cook is still making food.
So the first thing you are going to want to do is preheat your oven to the lowest sitting and place a baking sheet in it. This is where you are going to place your burgers when you are done. So they keep warm. This is what we do for pancakes and fry bread as well.
You are going to clean the top of your can of salmon and open it with your can opener.
Place it in the bowl and add in the other ingredients.
And just cook it on a griddle like you would regular burgers or pancakes. Let them cook on one side for anywhere from 3-5 minutes. Just know that the first batch will take a little bit longer because the griddle is not as hot.
Flip your salmon burgers and cook for the same amount of time.
How you plate this up is entirely up to you. Sometimes I put it in a hamburger bun and ate it like a hamburger. Other times I have put it in a salad that we were already going to have. And I just put ranch over the top.
However you decide, I hope that you like it. Feel free to check out this and other recipes like it. Thank you in advance. See you in the next recipe
