Hey everybirdy. Today we are going to be making one of my all time comfort foods. I could really eat this dish so many different ways and have it be so good. Just butter and pasta is so comforting to me. And before anyone asks, no I have no Italian in me. I am only Italian by association.
Kirara is a cat youkai (Creature/monster) from Inazuma. She is a courier for the Komaniya Express. Meaning she is basically an Amazon Delievery Person. She enjoys her job very much. She states how she likes food that is easy to eat and she likes when she doesn’t have to worry about bones or scales. Her favorite food is fish. But, again can’t really get fresh fish around her. And I was think about what types of foods cats like and I couldn’t stop thinking about our cat Bubba when we were growing up.
We used to have Shrimp every year for Christmas dinner. Yeah, we never did the whole dress up in nice close and eat a fancy meal on Christmas day. We used to have just simple snack foods (that were equally healthy and not.) And we would have shrimp cocktails. Bubba would always beg for at least one shrimp. We would have him share a shrimp between him and Cookie.
Now this recipe is not hard.
You need
- A box of noodles
- Shrimp
- Broccoli
- Garlic
- Butter
Add your water and salt to your pot. DO NOT FORGET THE SALT. Oh my gosh. Working with some Italian women at the Community Lunch Program and they are just like “You never forget the salt. Not only does it not taste as good but the noodles will stick to the bottom more.” I’m just like Okay. You are older than me. And you have been cooking for a lot longer than I have. I will take your words of knowledge as such. Bring it to a boil.
Cut up your broccoli and garlic. There is no right or wrong about of ingredients to you because you might need less than I need.
Melt your butter and add your broccoli and garlic. Let them simmer and steam. Just so that the broccoli is easy to eat.
Put your noodles in the boiling water carefully.
Set a timer to what the box tells you and add your shrimp to the butter, broccoli, garlic. I was using shrimp that was frozen but had been precooked. So it didn’t take that long to warm up.
Before your timer goes off add a colander to your sink. If you want to you can add a bowl under the colander so that you get the pasta water.
Once the timer goes off, dump the pasta into the colander and turn of the heat of the stove.
Add the noodles back to the pot and add in your butter shrimp sauce to the noodles. If it doesn’t seem like enough you can always add in that pasta water you saved. But if you are like me and forget to do this step you can add in a little bit more butter.
For this dinner I also made some garlic rolls. The recipe is the same of the Rolls I made for the broccoli soup.
Pizza Dough Rolls
- 2 ½ to 3 cups Flour
- 1 Tablespoon Sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 package yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
- 3 Tablesppons olive or vegetable oil
- 1 cup very warm water ( 120 to 130 F)
- A few cloves of garlic
- Butter
To a large bowl place your yeast and warm water. Let that set or bloom for at least 5 minutes.
Cut up your desired amount of garlic.
Add in the remaining ingredients.
You don’t need to use your mixer for this recipe.
Let it set for about 15-30 minutes. You don’t want it to double in size or anything like that. But if you have time you can start on this before everything and have it double in size and it will still be really yummy.
Measure out your rolls for the amount you want. I usually have it be divisible by 7 because that way there are enough for everyone in my family to have the same amount of rolls.
Bake them at 425 F for about 15- 20 minutes.
And once the rolls are done. You can enjoy.
I made this for my mom’s birthday and she loved it. I mean my philosophy is that “If a birthday person goes to bed hungry, it wasn’t a good birthday.” She told us that she really loved all the things that she did and got on her birthday. I couldn’t be more happy.
I hope that you like this recipe. There are definitely going to be more like this in the future. Feel free to check out some of my previous recipes. Remember to like and subscribe for more unique recipes and stories. Thank you.

Pizza Dough Rolls
Ingredients
Method
- Preheat your oven to 425°F.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix 1 cup of flour, the sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Add 3 tablespoons of oil and the warm water.
- Mix your dough on medium speed, if using a mixer, for about 3 minutes.
- Add enough flour until the dough is soft and it leaves the side of the bowl.
- Knead the dough for about 5 to 8 minutes, or let it continue to be in your mixer on the same speed for that same amount of time. You want the dough to be smooth and springy.
- Cover it with plastic wrap or a kitchen cloth and let it sit for 30 minutes.
- To form rolls:
- The use of a kitchen scale is perfect here.
- That way, each roll is the same amount each time.
- And that all depends on how big or small you want each roll to be.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
