Sul Sul, Gerbits. Today we are going to be making yet another strawberry recipe. Today we are making a strawberry pie.
First we are going to be making the pie crust. You can obviously buy it at the store, if you feel overwhelmed. But I personally love making pie crust.

For this recipe we are going to need two crusts. One for the bottom and one for the top.
The recipe that I use almost exclusively for my pie crust is Betty Crocker’s Pie Crust. The recipe will be in the description down below

We do want to make the pie crust first, so that it can chill in the freezer while you make the filling.
In medium bowl you are going to mix together your flour and salt.

Cut in the shortening with a pastry blender or fork until the mixture looks like small peas.
Sprinkle with water 1 tablespoon at a time. Each time you do it is going to be different.

However, you want all the flour to be moistened and you want the pastry to almost leave the side of the bowl.
Gather the pastry into a ball, and divide the pastry in half. Shape into 2 rounds.

Wrap plastic wrap around the two rounds and place it in the freezer until you need it.
Now we are going to work on the filling.

Both recipes for the pie crust and the actual pie is going to be in the description down below.
In a medium saucepan, you are going to add strawberries and lemon juice.

In a medium bowl you are going to combine the sugar and cornstarch. Whisk them together and pour over the strawberries.
Let the strawberries cook covered on medium low heat for 15 minutes until the strawberries are to get soft.

After 15 minutes you are going to turn the heat up and let the strawberries get to boiling.
Boil them for 5 minutes stirring constantly.

And then remove from heat.
While the strawberries are cooling down, you can preheat your oven to 350℉.

You can also get your pie crust out of the freezer and roll it out.
Pour the slightly cooled strawberry filling into your crust.

Then, carefully weave the lattice on the pie.
Bake for 35-4 minutes or until the lattice top is starting to look golden brown.

Make sure to rotate the pie halfway into the cooking time so it cooks evenly.
Enjoy.

I hope that you liked this recipe. Feel to check out this recipe in the description down below. Vadish, Dag Dag!
