Hey everybirdy.  This is a recipe I never thought I would be able to make. I was given small steaks from my food bank that I volunteer at. Now I want to explain that i bhave working agreement with the overall person in charge. They know that I live with 6 other adults. So they tell me that I can take things that I need or want. So, color me surprised When i see two packages of steak. They were small steaks, that would have gone bad over the weekend. So I took them. At the time i was cooking for five adults including myself because our parents were visiting our oldest brother.

Before I go on to tell you about the recipe I want to explain to you the character in question. Ineffa (In-f-a) is a robot maid that was made by Aino, a tiny genius from Nod-krai. Inefa was the first Nod Krai character that we met. I was extremely curious if she was going to have a favorite food because you know, robot maid and everything. But Aino programmed her to eat food. And Inefa says that her favorite food is steak.

With that being said, I wanted to share this recipe with you all.

The ingredients you are going to need are:

  • Steak
  • Chili powder
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • cayenne pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Cumin
  • Oil
  • Onions
  • Bell peppers

The first thing you are going to want to do is slice up your steak. It helps if you use the right knife. I apparently did not use the right butcher knife. But I got it done anyway.

Place the steak in a bowl. Add a little bit of oil to the steak. You could use a fajitas Spice mix from the store. But I forgot that those exist so I made up a recipe on the fly after watching a random YouTube video.

I am going to give you approximate measurements for the mix that I did because I kinda just winged it. I started with about a teaspoon or two of salt and pepper. A teaspoon of each chili pepper, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder. Now I grabbed the Cumin and thought I had the cap on. But in slow motion, a lot more of a teaspoon of Cumin went into the mixture. And at this moment I thought the dish was ruined. Because Cumin is such a strong spice.

But I told that voice in my head to be quiet and told myself that I don’t know when the next time I get to work with steak like this. We are not going to let something like this stop me. I got rid of a bit of extra Cumin. I continued with this adventure.

I let the steak sit in the seasoning marinade in the fridge for about 30 minutes.

After the 30 minutes, I mixed it one more time. And I started heating up a skillet with a little bit of oil.

I also put my stove on the lowest temperature with a baking sheet to place the cooked pieces of steak.

I cut up some onions and bell peppers. I put those in the steak mixture before I started grilling them.

I was so afraid that I was going to both burn this steak and serve my siblings raw steak. But I didn’t give in to the fear. I marched on.

If you wanted to, you could place your Tortillas in the oven right before you serve them. So you can have warm Tortillas.

I was honestly so worried that something was going to go off. But it really did help that I wasn’t exactly doing this recipe alone. I had help from my younger brother ( who is only 2 years younger than I am). He was the one in charge of the meat and was my sous chef.

I was really anxious when I served this dish. And to my delight, the results were worth it.  Everyone told me that it tasted really good and when mom and dad come back we should make it for them.

I was so happy that this recipe came out right. I mean I had no idea how to make fajitas before this. I barely researched what ingredients go into it. And it was going to be such an important recipe for me because my go-to thing to get at a Mexican restaurant is fajitas. So I really wanted to try it. And it worked! This was just a recipe that I am just so proud of myself for.

I hope that you like this recipe. Feel free to check out this and other recipes like it. Thank you in advance. See you in the next recipe.
