Chiori: Spice Prune Cookies

Hello, everybirdy. Today we are going to be making some cookies that you are either going to really like or not. Because prunes are an acquired taste. My family and I were given a bunch of dried prunes over the summer through the Mobile food distribution that we go to everyone 2 weeks. And it does help us with  our food budget.

Chiori is a fashion designer originally from Inazuma but she has a boutique in Fontaine. She has designed many different outfits for other characters. I do in fact have her and that came to a surprise to me because her banner was at the same time as Xialonen (a Natlan Character that will get her own recipe later). I pulled and got Xialonen and then was like “oooh another Geo character that I don’t have. Yes please.” (I don’t know why I like Geo characters so much. There is only about 2 geo characters that I don’t have yet: Albedo and Itto).

Now onto the cookie recipe.

This recipe comes from the Betty Crocker Cookybook.

For these cookies you are going to need:

  • ½ cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ¾ Cup Flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ cups milk
  • 1 cup cut up pitted prunes, uncooked
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts

You are not going to preheat your oven first this time because they are going to need to chill in the fridge for about an hour.

This was the first recipe that I made using my first ever Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer that I got for free. I was beyond excited.

In the mixing bowl you are going to add your butter, sugar and egg. Mixing well.

Add your dry ingredients slowly. This includes your flour, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves.

Slowly add in your milk.

Fold in your prunes and walnuts.

Chill your cookie dough in the fridge for about 1 hour.

Heat oven to 400 F.

Drop the dough by rounded teaspoonfuls on a greased or lined baking sheet.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. I always start at 8 minutes and just add time if need be.

This recipe makes about 4 dozen cookies. But if you are anything like me, you make enough cookies so everyone in your household has the same amount of cookies. What I mean by that is: whenever I make cookies for my family I make sure that the amount of cookies is divisible by 7 because there are 7 adults living in this house. And I don’t want to be the reason people are fighting.

Let them cool on a cooling rack and enjoy.

I hope that you like this recipe. There are definitely going to be more like this in the future. Feel free to check out some of my previous recipes. Remember to like and subscribe for more unique recipes and stories. Thank you.
