Hello, every birdy. Today we are going to be making something that I honestly never thought of making. Just because I have never had this many almonds in my house. And I am trying to find different ways of baking with them. So today we are going to be candying them. And Oh My Gosh, let me tell you, this recipe is dangerous. It is super easy, super fast, and way too good.

Now, before we get into the recipes I want to talk about the character a little bit.

Dehya is a mercenary from the desert in Sumeru. She looks really tough but she has a feminine side to her as well. She was the one character that I really wanted when I saw the characters for the first time. And yes there are people who don’t like her, and I understand that. But I am not one of those people. I saved for MONTHS, as a free-to-play player. And I saved up 300+ wishes, so that I could not only get her, but so I could get her signature weapon. And honestly, I am so glad that I did that. She is such a fun character.

Her favorite food happens to be candied nuts, so here I am making this recipe.

The recipe and the measurements will be down in the description below.

The ingredients that you will need are:
- Butter
- Sugar
- Water
- Vanilla extract
- Cinnamon
- Whole almonds

The first thing that you are going to do is line a large baking sheet with some parchment paper or if you have it, a silicone baking mat.

Now, you are going to want to grab a non-stick pan. Yes, a pan and not a pot. I don’t think it would work the same if you grabbed a pot because it would be too deep.

To the pan, you are going to combine the sugar, water, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Bring that to a boil over medium heat.

Once the mixture is boiling you are going to add the almonds. Cook and stir the mixture until the water has evaporated.

It will change from liquid and then to syrup, next it will have more of a stringy consistency. And finally, it will crystalize onto the almonds. This part does not take that long. You just want to keep an eye out for your almonds.

When they are crystalized you are going to want to pour the almonds onto your prepared cookie sheet and make sure that none of them are on top of each other. Because if they are they are going to be just a large chunk of candied almond and that would be hard for everyone to eat.
Let those cool for about 15 minutes, and store them in an airtight container.

These were really good. They only took a short about of time to create. One of the biggest compliments that I got for these was from my sister. She came into the kitchen when they were resting on the cookie sheets and she goes “It smells like the mall in here.” And that made me really happy because it brings back some memories.

I hope that you liked this recipe. Feel free to check it out for yourself. See you in the next post. Thank you.
