Hello, every birdy. Today we are making something that honestly surprised me. I made cookies off the top of my head. Without a recipe, and shockingly enough, they tasted really good. They were peppermint cookies and they would pair wonderfully with some warm milk.

Layla is a student of the Akademiya in Sumeru. She specializes in theoretical Astrology. She is chronically sleep deprived and she has poor health as a result. Her favorite food is warm milk or something that will help her sleep. I thought that these cookies would be perfect for her.

First, let us make the cookies. Preheat your oven to 350 F. And grease your cookie sheets with non-stick spray or parchment paper.

The ingredients you will need are:
- Brown sugar
- Granulated sugar
- Margarine/butter
- Eggs
- Vanilla
- Flour
- Baking soda
- Baking powder
- Salt
- Peppermint candies

In a separate bowl, you are going to add your dry ingredients. This includes your flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. And set it aside.

The first thing you will want to do is have your butter at room temperature. And when I say butter I mean whatever butter you want to use. You may be like me and use margarine, or you may use some other butter substitute.

Mix your butter by itself for 1-2 minutes. So that it can have some air to it.

Then slowly add both your brown and granulated sugar to the butter. Mix for another 1-3 minutes. Just until the mixture doesn’t look gritty.

Add your eggs one at a time. As I know the prices of eggs are extremely high in some areas, I may do a post on egg substitutions, in the future.

After all of your eggs are in, add in your vanilla. At this point, it should look similar to the cookie dough of chocolate chip cookies.

Slowly add in your dry ingredients. I say slowly because you don’t want a puff of flour coming back at you. Nobody really likes flour in their lungs.

Fold in your peppermint candies.

Place your cookies on the prepared cookie sheets. Using a cookie scoop, or two teaspoons drop your cookies onto the sheets, about two inches from each other.

Bake your cookies for 6-8 minutes depending on a bunch of factors.

After all of the cookies are out and cooling on your cooling racks. You can start making your warm milk. The thing you want to remember when you warm up the milk is that the stovetop is the best way to warm it up equally. And unlike tea, you want to stir in consistently so you don’t scratch the milk. You also don’t want to have it boil. Just a light simmer.

Everyone told me that they liked these cookies. That they were impressed that I made them without any recipe. Trust me when I say that they, being my gunnie pigs – I mean Family, give honest criticism. They will tell me when something just doesn’t really turn out right.

I hope that you liked this recipe. Feel free to check it out for yourself. See you in the next post. Thank you.
