Sul Sul, gerbits. Today we are going to be making something so very simple. It is just a basic box cake recipe, but this particular recipe is very close to my heart.
Every Easter, my family would get up early and start on the egg hunt. After we collected all of the eggs, we would get our baskets. They were usually filled with a few candies, and an accessory for our new outfit.
Once we got our baskets, we got dressed and headed to a buffet. It was the type that made you a penguin on the walk home. It was such a fun time and even though we weren’t able to go this year, we still had to have a staple dessert: Strawberry Shortcake.
This box recipe for a simple angel food cake was completely different from others. Because it only had one other ingredient other than the cake mix, and the ingredient is water.
You are going to want to follow the directions on the box. Because it can be different from brand to brand.
But for this recipe, you are going to preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
You are going to add the mix and the water into a bowl.
Mix it for about 30 seconds on low speed.
And then mix the batter for 1 minute at medium speed. Scraping down the sides if needed.
Bake as the box directed.
I made this cake as cupcakes, so I bake them for about 20 minutes.
I let them chill overnight, and then I added the strawberries and whipped cream before serving.
This recipe was extremely simple and easy to do. And it has so much meaning to it.
