Chocolate Chip Cake

Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cups granulated sugar
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ cup shortening
- 1 ¼ cups milk
- 3 eggs
- ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips finely chopped or ½ cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla
Directions
- Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour oblong pan 9 X 13, or 2 round layer pans, 8 or 9 X 1 ½ inches.
- Beat all ingredients in large mixer bowl on low speed, scraping bowl constantly, 30 seconds; beat on high speed, scraping bowl occasionally, 3 minutes.
- Pour into pan(s)
- Bake until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 40 to 45 minutes; cool.
