Hello, Every birdy. I have found that I like creating pie art over cake art. It seems that I can’t get cake art right at all. Nothing ever works out for me, but I will not stop trying. Well, today we are going to be making another plum pie.

Today’s recipe comes from a website “Ginger Snap’s Baking Affairs – Cinnamon Plum Pie.” The link to the recipe will be down below.

Hu Tao is a funeral director in Liyue. She is a very paciulraly character. She is known to give out flyers for her business. And giving people discounts on her services.

For the recipe you will need
Pie crust:
- Flour
- Salt
- Shortening
- Ice water
Filling
- Plums
- Brown sugar
- flour
- Lemon juice
- Cinnamon
- Vanilla extract

If you have been here for a while you will know that when we are making a pie. The first thing that we want to do is make a pie crust, or two in the case of this pie.

You are going to measure out your flour and salt into a large bowl. Add in your shortening. Using a pastry blender or two forks combine the shortening with the flour until the mixture resembles peas. At this point you are going to add in your ice water 1 tbsp at a time. Until the dough comes off of the bowl, and it is mixed.

Place your dough onto a lightly floured surface and divided it in half. And shape thouse two into two discs. And place them in the freezer until you are ready to use it.

For the filling you are going to preheat the oven for 375F. And spray your 9 inch pan with cooking spray.

The first thing you will want to do is prepare your plums. Slice them into about ¼ inch slices. And toss them into a large bowl. If you want to peel the plums you can.

Next, you are going to add your brown sugar, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, and vanilla extract into your plums. You will want all of your plums to be coated. And let this sit for a second.

Take your pie dough out of your freezer or fridge, and roll it out to the desired size of your pie pan. The bottom crust is not going to be anything special. It will just be a round circle.

However, the top crust is where you can have fun. Today, after I put in the pie filling, I made the top crust look like Hu Tao’s ghost. I thought it was very cute. And it was very simple.

But if you wanted to, you could do literally anything your heart desired with the top crust. And place your pie onto a cookie sheet, just in case you accidentally overfilled your pie.

Bake your pie at 375 F for 20 minutes. And then turn your oven temperature down to 350 F and bake for an additional 40- 45 minutes.

You will want to cool your pie at room temperature for 3 hours before slicing. This helps the pie to thicken up as it cools.

This pie was really tasty and it honestly tastes like cinnamon candy. You could taste the plums, but at the same time, it was like the plums were just the gummy part of the cinnamon candy.

I really liked this pie and it was fun to design it.

I hope that you liked this recipe. Feel free to check it out for yourself. See you in the next post. Thank you.
