Easy Candy Cane Crinkles
I made these for the first time way back in December 2019. Now, whenever I have candy canes in the house, my family is always like, "Are you going to make your cookies?"

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 3 Candy Canes Crushed. About 1/4 Cup
- 1/2 Cup Margarine**
- 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/8 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Grease a light-colored baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray, parchment paper, or a silicone baking mat. Set it aside.
- Crush your candy canes.
- In a large bowl, Cream together your margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in your vanilla and egg.
- Making sure to scrape the sides of the bowl.
- In a small separate bowl, mix all of your dry ingredients: your salt, baking powder, baking soda, and flour.
- Slowly add this mixture to your other bowl.
- Remember to scrape the sides of the bowl.
- When the two mixtures are just combined, add in your candy canes.
- Put some powdered sugar on a plate.
- Roll your cookie dough into balls and roll them in the powdered sugar.
- Place these cookies at least an inch or two apart.
- Bake your cookies for 9 to 11 minutes or until the bottoms begin to barely brown and the cookies look shiny.
- Let them cool on the baking sheet for 3 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
